The current proscenium arch is substantially lower than the one designed by Louis Curtiss. In 1922, the Shubert theatre conglomerate held the lease on the theater and renovated it, lowering the proscenium. The original proscenium is not visible to the public, but can still be seen from the attic. This photo is of the right side of the proscenium. (Photo taken March 12, 2002).
